i discovered formula 1 in 2021. growing up in the deep south, i had never heard of racing outside of nascar before. one day i came home to spend the weekend with my parents, and they were watching the 2021 emilia-romagna grand prix. they had learned about formula 1 through the netflix series, drive to survive, and had started keeping up with the season. i have no idea how or why but i was hooked. i never had any interest in sports beforehand, but i became obsessed with f1. it's not just about the cars and the racing. it's about the pesonalities of the drivers, dynamics of the teams, the politics and fandom of it all. so many passionate people from all over the world come together to make this sport great. i've experienced 2 f1 seasons so far and am super excited for my 3rd!!
